Whirled Glass

I have been looking more at some of the glass jewelry that I am seeing from a few of the local blowers in Vegas. I see that they are doing a lot of religious jewelry and that is quite a feet for these guys. I would expect it from a few of the ladies that I know that are blowers but these guys I am almost totally dumbfounded. Still they look really good.

I always wondered how they made things that small and intricate. Some of the pieces I see coming from the better designers are so meticulously made that you would wonder how they could get something so hot into suck a small area. Simply amazing. And now that I have my iPhone I will be able to get some pics of the new stuff before it comes out on their store shelves or their sites.

What is in a good watch? Like a Rolex! They are made by craftsmen that have really fine tuned their skills. There is an art convention in Las Vegas this weekend at Cashman Field. There will be some great art there not to mention that there will also be some very interesting glass pieces. If you are so inclined, the admission is probably very cheap if not FREE. There are always free shows like this one in Vegas you just have to know where to find them.

Take a few minutes and head North on the strip to Cashman Field on the East side of Las Vegas Blvd. Just minutes from the busy strip and it will be a relaxing experience for you. I guarantee it.

I love glass-blown trinkets and anyone that knows me would definitely know that about me…and my love of books of course. At my baby shower that was before I had my beautiful baby boy Javier I received a gorgeous glass turtle that was from Canada. Well it was made in Canada I guess. This turtle was perfect for me because I have a thing for turtles…to be specific sea turtles. This turtle was clear all th way through except for the little specs of colors that flowed through it. Once I opened this gift I knew exactly where in the nursery I was going to put it. Right on top of the chifferobe that my mother got for Javi. I put it there so when he woke up in the morning he would be able to see it. To this day he still stares and it and goo goo and gaw gaws…lol.

A common household item found in many Finland homes is a new glass piece that we found and I wanted to share this with our readers. It is a glass product and that excites us when we find something out of the ordinary like this so we want to share the experience and send the message of something new and neat that we find. Henderson is home to Lake Las Vegas and there seems that something is always going on out there.
