Inogen One

Posted in General Hub Bub by Green People on the December 30th, 2007

If you have ever been to any casino in Vegas you have seen the old people that live in the slot area. I often wonder what makes them sit there night after night plugging in all of their money. They site there with their inogen one oxygen machines and some even smoking at the same time. To understand what makes someone do that is beyond me. I hear people talking about how retirees will spend their whole retirement check each month trying to increase the little amount that they get. What happens if they lose it all though? How many of the homeless people that we see around town are made up of people that spent way too much in the slot machines?

Join the Army

Posted in General Hub Bub by Green People on the December 28th, 2007

After several attempts to join the United States Military I finally got in a few years ago. It was the most fun I had ever had at a job in my life. Granted the days were long and the being on call 24 hours a day was a little bit of a hindrance on any kind of social life, but the fact that I was there doing what I could to help defend our country was a great feeling. I often wondered what it would be like to be in the Swiss Army at times. I met a few people from that side of the world.

I learned a lot from being in the Military and still use that knowledge to this day. Perhaps if you are considering becoming a soldier you should check out some of the history behind our Military so that you can have a better understanding of what it means to represent your countries fighting force. History can teach us a lot and Military History is fascinating, especially our Military’s History.

Lets Get Skinny … Right

Posted in General Hub Bub by Green People on the December 27th, 2007

I need an eca stack to get this metabolism thing kicking and get this damn weight off. I was just thinking about a friend of mine that is so hot but so fat at the same time. Well I can’t say that she is fat .. rather that she has got a big butt and she is very sexy with her big butt. I on the other hand have no butt so being sexy is a little harder for me. What is with the American public anyway? So we all have to look like super models to be sexy? I guess so. So what I need is a big fat dose of energy booster and a treadmill until. If I could walk on the treadmill non stop until I was skinnier I would be happy but I have to go to work so I can pay for this site to stay up. So bye for now!

T Shirts that are Green

Posted in General Hub Bub by Green People on the December 26th, 2007

How about a T shirt that inspires us all to be more green and more in tune with Mother Earth? I have found this site for everyone that wants to display a little inspiration in their everyday life.

I have been searching for affiliates that are in the same area as Whirled Glass. I have not found too many or actually any at all that sell glass products. So … I thought I would focus my searching to something else that Whirled Glass stands for and that is being Green. Everyone can use a little Green in their life and you will inspire those around you to make changes in their lives as well to help save this planet and keep our world from falling apart. Inspirational messages displayed on a very cool T Shirt. This is on our list as one thing to check out for inspiration.

And if you have ever heard of them or dealt with them VOTE so we can keep them or boot them!!

Our Used Van

Posted in Misc by Green People on the December 23rd, 2007

We have this thing about buying lemons so when we bought our van we got the best Used Car Warranty that we could and didn’t even think twice about the price of the warranty. We have a really bad habit of getting the car home and as soon as it can not be returned for being a lemon it starts to break down. We decided to get the Full On Warranty from GM so that if anything goes wrong with the vehicle we can get it fixed for $100. That seemed like a pretty good deal for us since we can always manage the $100 but $1000 for an A/C repair is a little different. With the heat out here we need to know that the A/C is going to be cold each and every summer.

Thank God for Warranties.

Teeth are Coming in

Posted in General Hub Bub by Green People on the December 23rd, 2007

It is an exciting time for us as our littlest boy and our oldest boy are both getting new teeth. One is losing them and the other is getting them for the first time. I love how the baby cries constantly because of the pain of the new teeth coming in. The oldest boy cries every time we tell him we are going to have to tie his tooth to the door and pull it out. All joking aside …. I bet they are enjoying their new ability to chew food. The lil one ate spaghetti for the first time yesterday. That had to be some fun for him and Mama.

Glass Jewelry

Posted in Arts and Crafts by Green People on the December 23rd, 2007

I have been looking more at some of the glass jewelry that I am seeing from a few of the local blowers in Vegas. I see that they are doing a lot of religious jewelry and that is quite a feet for these guys. I would expect it from a few of the ladies that I know that are blowers but these guys I am almost totally dumbfounded. Still they look really good.

I always wondered how they made things that small and intricate. Some of the pieces I see coming from the better designers are so meticulously made that you would wonder how they could get something so hot into suck a small area. Simply amazing. And now that I have my iPhone I will be able to get some pics of the new stuff before it comes out on their store shelves or their sites.

Green RV Work

Posted in Green RVing by Green People on the December 23rd, 2007

I did a ton of work on the RV today. Yesterday I decided that I would rip out the kitchen area and redo it today. So that is just what I did. I worked on it for about 4 hours setting up everything piece by piece so that it would come out perfect. I am not the greatest wood worker in the world anymore but I can hold my own. Every time I work on that thing for a few hours it seems like I gain a ton or pain. I need to dip into my medical supplies cabinet for some pain relief.

I think that this is turning out to be a great project. I like that we are using all of the old stuff to redo the inside so that we are not creating waste. We did have to buy a little here and there like the lights that where non existent but all in all we are doing pretty good at staying green with the whole thing.

Glass Bar Construction

Posted in General Hub Bub by Green People on the December 20th, 2007

We are making a glass .. all glass .. bar for our house on wheels. We thought about making hte bar stools as well but they would not hold up and stand the test of time if they were made of glass. The bar however looks like it will stand up to repeated use and it looks amazing so far. With two levels and all see through it is really taking shape. I was thinking about some neon inside under the top level to set off the look of the bar but then again we are going to have plenty of light in there to compliment the table part of the bar. I like where this one is going and quite possibly this might end un in our house instead of the RV. It’s very heavy so far and is no where near done. AND we are using recycled clear glass bottles for this project. Good Times!

One Day

Posted in General Hub Bub by Green People on the December 20th, 2007

One Day they will come out with some kind of machines that allow glass blowers to make incredible pieces in a matter of minutes. There are machines for everything else like Delta machinery for wood working why not for glass working as well? Maybe some of the glass blowers will get together and design a better and faster way to manipulate their glass. Usually people that shape glass are very hands on though so this may be a far fetched dream. I wonder if anyone has tried this to date. I couldn’t find anything on the internet about a glass blowing machine but I will remain hopeful. Maybe something like an injection molding machine??
