Proper Diet

Posted in General Hub Bub by Green People on the November 27th, 2007

One aspect of losing weight is a good colon cleanse. You may not think that this is a necessary part of losing weight and it sounds gross but believe me when I tell you that you will benefit from getting all of that waste out of your body before you start trying to lose weight. Your body needs to flush out all of the McDonalds and French Fries that you have been eating over the years. Even eating what you think is healthy is sometimes not so great. Those food products that you buy at your local market are loaded with preservatives to keep the food what they call fresh while it is in transport to your local market. Some food travels up to 1500 miles in a truck before it ever hits your local stores shelves. “Fresh” food does not stay fresh that long. When these preservatives hit your colon they attach themselves to your body permanently.

Take care in a good diet and get your body clean. You will find that your weight loss results are greater with a little help from a clean body that can digest food properly.

Fan-Tastic RV

Posted in Green RVing by Green People on the November 26th, 2007

As you know because you read this blog all the time .. we have been building an RV that was trashed. The whole interior of this RV was in pretty bad shape when we got it and we have been doing our damnedest to get it back to livable. The pictures are tell the story and you can find them on Earth Articles.com along with some other pictures of us and the camping adventures we have. It has been about a month or a little more since we started this RV project and I would say that we have come a long way since day one. I had to tear out a lot of garbage and unguided construction to get to the real base of the RVs interior. After re-gutting the RV we started putting things in their place and trying to get the RV back up to par so that we could carpet it and get to repairing the engine.

The engine ……

I took out a couple of spark plugs to see if they were reusable and they seem to be in pretty good shape except for the tarnish from the bad gas that we drove it all the way home with. Which would explain the back firing as well. Not to mention the crappy spark plug wires. I think I got the spark plug wires to stop arcing long enough to figure out where the misfire was coming from, other than the spark plug wires, and it should be an easy fix. Some clean plugs and new gas and all should be well. I also noticed that the radiator fluid was rusty and mostly water. NOT GOOD. I don’t see it leaking anywhere so I am going to pressure test the cooling system and see what gives there. .If there are no pressure drops then I will go ahead and replace the coolant with some 100K Mile Coolant.

The dash seems to be in pretty bad shape to. The physical appearance and the little issue of we are not sure if anything really works there.

All in all I think we got our moneys worth out of this deal. After we get everything hooked back up and get the gas lines and electric hooked back up I think we will be in business. Then we can sell it to the highest bidder after we take it to Dark Skies. I will post some more pics of the progress when I get it a little further along. Right now it is pretty skeleton looking but it’s getting there.

Turkey Day

Posted in General Hub Bub by Green People on the November 22nd, 2007

Turkey Day is upon us. My sister emailed me from way across the country and let me know that they made a beautiful South Park Theme Type Center Piece for their table. I want to see it and I don’t have a picture yet but I will try and get her to send me one.

We had a little emergency this year right before Turkey Day and my Mom could not stay for the Thanksgiving holiday with us. This was the first time that she met Michelle and the first time that she saw little Javier and got to see Quinn again. We did have a great few days together and I wished it could have been longer. I set up one of the rooms in our house for them to stay in. I think I did a pretty good job. I set up a nice queen sized memory foam mattress bed for them and also put a little picture of the boys in there to keep them company. That room was our old studio so it has a lot of space for whatever we want to use the room for.

I hope that some time soon we get to see Memere and Pap again. They look very happy now that they are retired and living the life. I got to see a ton of pictures from their farm in PA and everyone that they hang with. That was fun. We can’t wait to do it again.

Double Gifts

Posted in Misc by Green People on the November 17th, 2007

We were thinking of new and inventive ways to use glass to form some neat Christmas gifts for this year. One of the ideas I had was using glass to create a container like a small box that you could put things in. Like if you were going to give someone a pearl necklace you could put it in a glass box shaped like a Oyster or something. That would give the gift a little more life and would also possibly make the gift a two part gift instead of the traditional one.

You can great anything out of glass. Whether it will withstand the test of time, clumsy people, and accidents are a different story. If anyone else has any good ideas like this I would love to hear them.

RV Time Loss Posting Blogging

Posted in General Hub Bub by Green People on the November 16th, 2007

It has been a few days since I have been able to come here and write. At the same time that I am supposed to be here writing about glass and being green I am losing myself in the RV construction. I have turned our garage into a very large mess and I have to get the RV going and done ASAP to get the clutter out of our recently cleaned garage. It was looking do good until we got the wood and RV parts in there.

I will be back in full swing in a few days after I get the rest of the framework done inside. Then it is on the tune up and the gas replacement. WOOT. So I will have more time to blog here very soon. One little thing I guess I wanted to share is that I learned how to make Gazpacho. And it came out different both time that I made it. So far!

Blog on a Rampage

Anyone have an extra solar panel they are not using?

How about a Turbine Power Generator?

This RV that we are working on will not have these things unless we can somehow get them donated. I’m not sure yet how to go about that task of getting people to donate thing to us. I used to be able to blog about things on here and our other blogs and we would be able to sell advertisements in our posts but we are cutting back on the advertising and moving more toward getting our blogs jacked up on posting juice. I want to write more about what we are doing and what is going on in our blogging world. I will still be looking for glass blowing sites and events to link you to and to talk about and also we will be adding more links for sites that ask us to post about some great thing they are doing for the world.

I was reading through our blogs the other day when I had a few minutes to kill and I noticed that really .. if you look at it .. there is a ton of great content on our sites and we need and want to keep that alive and well. Even if you follow the TOS of the companies that sell blog advertising you can get clogged with ads on your posts.

So my proposition is … if you have something that we are talking about in our blog or you see a post that is already geared to your product and you can spare one and would like a write up about your awesome product … send us an email and we will work something out. Right now we, well I, am researching how I can build a 12 or 24 volt powered generator that will produce 120v AC. I’m thinking Solar Powered charging system for 12v batteries that power the generator. Everyone says it can’t be done so anyone that wants to help fund the research we will prove them wrong together. And please don’t say this has already been done … it hasn’t I assure you of that.

Postal Justice

Posted in General Hub Bub by Green People on the November 2nd, 2007

I’m still in a struggle with out post office to get our mail delivered to our home. Well to our mailboxes across the street from our home. What is so hard about getting our mail and getting it to us? I just don’t get why they are having such a hard time with this issue. I have been calling and bugging them for a year now and there is still no mail other than junk in our mailbox. This is really getting out of hand. I wish an over eager young energetic lawyer would read this post and contact me about getting in the Postal Services butt. I need some justice.

Tiny Reflections

Posted in General Hub Bub by Green People on the November 2nd, 2007

I noticed today in one of the pictures, the only picture, of our year make and model of RV that there is not bathroom vanities. That is a little weird seeing as you are to live in the thing .. you want to see what you look like don’t you? Well we are going to solve that problem toot sweet. I have a huge mirror just sitting in the garage not being used. I am going to put it on the wall in the bathroom and see if I can get it to take up most of that side of the room. That shouldn’t be hard seeing as the camper is as small as a matchbook.

Take A Break

Posted in Arts and Crafts by Green People on the November 2nd, 2007

What is in a good watch? Like a Rolex! They are made by craftsmen that have really fine tuned their skills. There is an art convention in Las Vegas this weekend at Cashman Field. There will be some great art there not to mention that there will also be some very interesting glass pieces. If you are so inclined, the admission is probably very cheap if not FREE. There are always free shows like this one in Vegas you just have to know where to find them.

Take a few minutes and head North on the strip to Cashman Field on the East side of Las Vegas Blvd. Just minutes from the busy strip and it will be a relaxing experience for you. I guarantee it.
