Seattle Glass Blowing

Posted in Glass Blowing Schools by Green People on the May 28th, 2007

If you are ever in Seattle Washington and you want a great experience in glass blowing .. there is a place you can go. Seattle Glass Blowing is another great place to learn the art of old world glass blowing. Offering glass blowing classes as well as some of the nicest blown glass I personally have seen in my search for the greatest glass blowers in America and around the world.

These beautiful and hand crafted glass pieces are amazing. The creativity and patience that goes into every piece is very visible. Each glass piece that is displayed in their photo gallery must have taken a great deal of time and care to create. I bet to watch them make these art pieces it would seem like minutes.

If you have visited Seattle Glass Blowing … let us know by leaving your comments and if you have any pictures from within we would love to see them.

Legal Smoking

Posted in Glass Pipes and Smoking Accessories by Green People on the May 22nd, 2007

~ DISCLAIMER ~
In NO WAY shape or form do we EVER condone any illegal actions. We are not going to list them all. You are smart you should know what this means.

That being said … let’s move forward with the post.

In looking for some other local glass pipe shops that don’t suck we came across this site. If you are reading our site then maybe you already know about WeBeHigh.com, and if now then this is your chance to learn something so take advantage.

WeBeHigh.com is a community type website that offers you the reader a place to go and find legal herbal smoking buds in your city or state. If you live in a little tiny town you are probably not going to get much use out of the site unless you have a car and can stay sober long enough to get to a big city near you. Anyway …

We looked up Las Vegas on WeBeHigh.com and sure enough there are places in Las Vegas that you can buy some legal to won and operate herbal buds. We thought surly this must be a farce but no .. we called one of the local shops and sure enough it is the Gods honest truth. Who the hell thought of this. If this garbage gets you high in anyway .. it should not be legal.

We stress again .. getting high is not something that we portray with our website .. only the art of blowing glass and the world that surrounds some of the forms of glass blowing like head shops and pipe making.

Las Vegas’ Own Mr. Bills

Posted in Glass Pipes and Smoking Accessories by Green People on the May 17th, 2007

We have been shopping at Mr. Bills Pipe and Tobacco Company for years. We have nothing but great things to say about Mr. Bills. From the people who work there to the products they carry, we just love them.

When we first moved into Las Vegas there where not a great deal of smoke shops worth checking out. Most of them are run down or they just sell too many swords. When you go to a pipe shop you don’t want to buy a sword. Do you? But Mr. Bills was tried and true to the pipe and smoking accessories and the great prices. No matter what you may think of prices verses products I will tell you this from very personal experience, if you want the best products at the bets prices you may pay a little more than the other guys are charging for lower quality junk. Get it?

I mean .. if you are going to buy a car and you want a Mercedes and you want to pay Yugo prices … go buy a Yugo, they are probably better on gas anyway. You really do get what you pay for when it comes to Mr. Bills. They may be a few pennies higher than the other guys but you are going to leave there with your Mercedes and your wallet in tact.

None the less … Mr. Bills has a great selection of glass pipes and at great prices. We will keep on shopping Mr. Bills.

Hooka Lounge

Posted in Hookah Lounges by Green People on the May 14th, 2007

Maybe you have been to a hooka lounge before but not a hooka lounge like this. Las Vegas is home to the Hooka Lounge on S. Maryland Parkway near UNLV. The experience that we have with the Hooka Lounge is not limited in any way. We even have a hooka of our own that we like to break out every once in a while and get our fruit on.

Smoking fruit flavored tobacco is a very relaxing sensation. For those readers that have not had the opportunity to try out a bowl of fruit flavored hooka tobacco, you will probably like to sit down one day and try it out. Luckily there are places like the Hooka Lounge where you can try out a hooka and not have to shell out the $100 for a really nice hooka at your local smoke shop.

Now … There are cheaper hookas out there and you can find them on the net pretty cheap. But when you really want to impress your friends and your family you spend a few extra dollars and get a really nice, big, elaborate hooka. Then when it breaks you are really pissed and not just disappointed. We have yet to have a problem with our hooka except for the occasional hose breakage but we got a really nice set of hoses hooked up to it now and it worked out great.

Check out the Hooka Lounge and let us know what you think.

Local Glass Blowers

Posted in Glass Blowing Schools by Green People on the May 9th, 2007

In Las Vegas you will find every type of person and business known in existence. Every culture has come to our city looking for a way to let their creativity and business sense thrive. You will find some very one of a kind people in Las Vegas.

Hot Glass Works is one of the local glass blowing business that offers a little more to the public than what you would expect from a business. They offer classes for those of you who would like to get your hands dirty in the glass blowing experience. They often offer open houses where you can go to the shop and check out the techniques of blowing glass.

You could spend several hours looking at all of the creations that have come about from stained glass, sand carving, hand engraved glass, and old world style glass blowing. Remember when the glass blowers of yesteryear used rods and the glass formed on the end …. heating and turning until they had the perfect shape and design? You may have seen something like this at a local Renaissances Festival or in history books in school.

The art of blowing glass comes alive at Hot Glass Works. And remember when you are in Vegas, “Don’t blow your money, blow glass.”
